Tax Collection

(Real estate bills are issued quarterly) Aug: 1, Nov. 1, Feb. 1 and May 1 (if the 1st lands on a weekend or on a day that we are closed it will be due on the next business day)

February 1st and May 1st (bills for personal property are issued semi-annually).

Cash, Checks and money orders.

Massachusetts general law requires property tax bills be sent to the owner of record as of the January 1st date immediately preceding the start of the fiscal year.  If you purchased your property after January 1 the tax bills for July 1st through June 30th will be in the name of the previous owner C/O New owner.

$50.00 and we also require a self addressed envelope.

Under state law, failure to receive a tax bill does not affect the validity of the tax or any interest or penalties incurred due to late payment, it is the responsibility of the taxpayer to secure his/her tax bill when one is not received.

You have to contact the Assessors office for all address or name changes on Real Estate or Personal Property. For changes to the excise tax bills you have to contact the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
