On Thursday, October 4th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, the City of Easthampton will hold a Civics Academy at Easthampton High School. This event is for all ages.

The goal is for all residents to be able to navigate the procedures that make up our government and further their voices in our community, as well as for board and committee members to get a refresher on the policies.

Present will be members from city boards and committees, elected officials, municipal officials, as well as experts in the topics covered.

We hope the Easthampton Civics Academy will inspire residents to get involved in our city through boards and committees.

Presenters will join us to talk about:

* Open meeting laws - What are they and why do we have them?
* Parliamentary Rules of Procedure - How can I participate in my city’s meetings?
* Board/Committee Service – What do boards/committees do and how can I join?

We look forward to seeing you there!

Take care,

Mayor Nicole LaChapelle
